Graduation

Can you believe the twins graduated from elementary school!?!? It seems like just yesterday they were starting kindergarten!! They are so excited to be moving on to middle school (even though I am scared to death). They were very proud of their diplomas. They also received trophies for having been at the same school since kindergarten. They also both received citizenship for the entire year and also honor roll for the entire year. Riley also received 2 more trophies because she was a HERO reader and had the second highest AR point average in the entire school (617). (notice the height difference...crazy huh!!)

Here they are with some of the other graduating 5th graders in our church ward. Their friend on the far right made them each candy leis for graduation which they are proudly sporting around their necks.
And of course this was the huge highlight of the day...a bubble gum pink LIMO...a.k.a "Pinky" which picked them and some of their friends up from school and took them on a 2-hour ride and scavenger hunt around Bartlett.

Oh, to be a kid again...

I am so proud of them but it makes me sad to see my baby girls growing up so fast!!!!!!

The Memphis Zoo

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of zoos. My kids aren't really either. But, did you know that the Memphis Zoo was voted #1 in the country?? We try to go at least once a year on FREE day. Last week, Amber and I checked our kids out of school on free day to take advantage of the beautiful weather and the awesome Memphis Zoo. Lucas loved it!! I realized that he hadn't been since he was a baby so he was amazed at all of the animals. It will be fun to take him back again. I was also reminded while we there that Gage used to call elephants Emenants and giraffes REgiraffes. It was so cute and I hadn't thought about that in a long time.

Who is this??

Is this Gage? Oh wait, its Gage's clothes getting ready for church. I guess my son thought this would be a funny picture to take on mom's camera. So now we know what he was doing when we were yelling at him to get ready for church. I found this picture a few days later. What a crazy kid.

Brothers

This is how I found my boys the other night. No, they do not share a bed. Lucas has his own bed so I'm not sure how they ended up together. Gage's pillow is on top of him but under Lucas. They are both at the foot of the bed. Gage's shirt is off. They are both on top of the comforter and the sheet. Lucas' blankie is under Gage.

They sure love each other. Lucas wants to be just like his big brother. He can not wait for him to get home from school in the afternoon. They love to wrestle around together. And Gage is almost always gentle with him. Gage like to teach Lucas how to play games and ride his bike or scooter. I hope they always love each other as much as they do right now.

Crazy days!

Do you ever feel like this?? Me...almost every day!

Recital 2009

We just had another recital. This would be the 5th year that we have been involved in these dance recitals. Riley has been dancing that long. She takes a combo class of ballet, tap, and jazz. Tyler is more of our athlete. Dancing is not her thing. But she wanted to take acrobatics this year. At our dance school the acro classes get to perform at recital also. Ty was scared to death! But she did really well!!Macy danced 2 years and then decided that she would take Acrobatics this year too. She LOVED it! She is all about being on stage. She loves the spotlight! She loves getting dressed up, getting hair and make-up done , and performing. And she loves cheesing it up for the camera!

Field Day 2009

At our Elementary School every year in May we have Field Day. I didn't have this at my school when I was a kid so its so entertaining to go watch my kids participate. We take a picnic and enjoy the day.

This year since I have 4 kids at the same school, their Field days were on different days so it was more like "Field Week" for us.
The first day was Macy's Field Day. After watching for the past 5 years she was so excited to get her turn! And she did great!
Gage's day was the next day. He is so competitive so Field Day is right up his ally. He had fun with all of his friends. Especially the sponge squeeze. I loved watching those little girls squeeze sponges full of water on his head.

Riley and Tyler had a special Field day since it is their last year in elementary school. They got to have an obstacle course and a MUD SLIDE! Tyler doesn't mind getting a little dirty. She loves sports and playing outside. And it seemed as though her teacher didn't mind soaking her down with the water hose either. Sports, outside and mud aren't exactly Riley's cup of tea. She would much rather be under a blanket with a good book. She tried her hardest to get out of getting in the mud but at the last minute her friend grabbed her foot and dragged her back in. She was covered! They were both good sports though!!

NEVER SAY NEVER!!!!!

Ok, ok, I did it! I said I would never get involved in the blogging craze... I am way too busy, most of my family is local-they always know whats going on with me, etc., etc. But recently I have had a slight change of heart. Last week my friend Jill moved away which makes 2 of my favorite friends to move away in the last couple of years (and both to Arizona !!!!!). This summer more of my favorite people are moving away and I'm sure it will happen again and again. So, to help us better stay in touch and be able to peak inside of each other's lives a bit I broke down and started this blog. Now, keeping it updated...thats a different story. We'll see how it goes!
